The USDA NRCS in New York is preparing to issue a solicitation for work authorized under the Emergency Watershed Protection Program due to recent heavy rain with resultant flooding conditions. The work is to relieve imminent hazards to life and property. The work consists of site dewatering, the installation of approximately 4,200 tons of rock rip-rap, installation of two rock rip-rap grade control sills, the excavation and movement of 2,500 tons of existing rock rip-rap and approximately 1,500 cu.yd. of excavation and fill to stabilize the stream bed and banks along Eighteenmile Creek just upstream and downstream from Hillcroft Road Bridge in the Town of Boston, Erie County, New York.A bid guarantee will be required with all bids. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% will be required within 5 calendar days of award of contract. The location of the work sites will be within the flooded areas and as described in the solicitations. All necessary permits and land rights have been acquired.
A firm-fixed price award is anticipated under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The solicitation package, construction drawings and specifications will be posted and available from this site on or about June 24, 2009. Estimated dates for bid opening will be on or about July 24, 2009, and project completion by September 30, 2009. A pre-bid site showing is being planned and will be specified in the solicitation package.
Price Range is between $250,000 to $500,000.

Delays in acquiring Landrights have now been resolved and landrights are secured.Estimated Price Range of work as above has been revised to between $100,000 - 250,000
